Dr. Shanthanna is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Anesthesia, Surgery, and Health Research Methods, Evidence, & Impact (HEI) at McMaster University.

• Research affiliate at the Research Institute of St. Joseph’s Hamilton, and a member of the Michael DeGroote Institute of Pain Research and Care and the DeGroote Center for Medicinal Cannabis Research.
• Currently works as an anesthesiologist and chronic pain physician at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton with a focus on acute and chronic pain management.

Dr. Kim Madden is an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Surgery and Health Research Method, Evidence & Impact (HEI).

• A research affiliate at the Research Institute of St. Joseph’s Hamilton and the Center for Evidence-Based Orthopaedics at McMaster.
• Has been working in orthopaedics research since 2010 conducting large international randomized controlled trials.
• Current research focuses on hip and knee replacement surgery, pain management and medical cannabis, peri-operative care, and sports medicine.

Sidra Shoaib’s educational background includes MSc eHealth from McMaster University and a foreign MD degree. She has practiced internationally in Family Medicine with additional exposure to postgraduate Obstetrics & Gynecology training
